TV-Lite release 0.8.1

A month after the previous release, which was only a Linux one, introducing the capability of using yt-dlp to play youtube streams, here is the new one. Most important thing - it brings yt-dlp capability to Windows. The novelty? Merging TV streams and radio streams as two sections of the same subscription.

The TV and radio sections were present in TV-Maxe. However, in the beginning of the TV-Lite development I decided to use only the TV section. This was meant for converting the M3U lists and storing their content. However I maintain also a list of Romanian radio streams which I haven't included yet in any installation of TV-Lite, unlike the list of TV streams

Also I have hoped since the development of TV-Lite was started, that some other people would manage  to issue lists for other countries, too. Currently there is only the "IPTV" list, maintained by the owners of the respective Github project added as subscription.

So, at this point I decided to merge together the TV and radio lists, to make also the Internet radio world visible. It is easier to gather such stream addresses, and, in TV-Lite is easy to add and modify items to he lists and save them for further distribution.

So... look for the two new buttons that appeared in this area:

tv-radio

Pressing the  "TV" or  "Radio" buttons will reveal two separate channel lists, containing either TV or radio channels.

The regular M3U lists will only contain one list that will be stored in the TV section. If you select a channel list and there seem to be no channels in it, then check if you clicked the "Radio" button. Click on the "TV" button instead.

The "Favorites" tab will also be categorized. If you save a "Radio" channel in the Favorites list, it will go in the Radio section.
However all the "legacy" items will still be found in the TV section, which was the default place to use until now.

yt-dlp

This is a program that is used to save youtube movie clips (and from other similar sites). It is basically a command line utility. TV-Lite can use it to play streams from youtube and other places that are supported by this utility.
In Linux it can be installed  from the distro repositories, but I do not recommend this, as it might be out-of -date. The youtube site is a "moving target" and this application is updated very frequently, in order to cope with the site changes. Instead, one either can download the self contained binary file from their site (https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/wiki/Installation), or use Pip or other method suggested there.
For the Windows users  I included the binary into the installation package. However this may become obsolete soon. Please, go to the same site and download the newest windows .exe file from there.
You may place it in what folder you like, but, do not forget to specify the yt-dlp.exe location in the "TV-Lite preferences" dialog window. Navigate to the "youtube" tab.

Youtube preferences
Use the [...] button indicated by the arrow to interactively choose the path to the respective .exe.
For some streams it may be necessary to also make use of the "ffmpeg" utility along with yt-dlp. I have also included it in the Windows package. Almost all Linux distros have it in the repos, so it should be a breeze to install it, it it's not already installed by default.
Tick the "Use FFmpeg" box if some streams are troublesome.

Currently the Romanian list only includes Euronews as an Youtube live stream. There is also "Radio Zu" which is actually a video stream and included in the TV section. This one needs also FFMpeg to be used along with yt-dlp.

These are the novelties.

As usual, you will find installation instructions on the Download page.

Hope you will enjoy this release.
